Who Are The Drones?

Since forming in the spring of 2024, Mindful Drones have rapidly built a loyal following in Ottawa with performances at Avant Garde, the Rainbow Bistro, Night Oat, Live! On Elgin and more. Their unique sound is a Frankenstein’s monster of soul, psychedelia, folk and alternative rock, blended into a new and refreshing palate. Singer-songwriters Klifford Skies and Brett Roberts, bassist Alex Wong, fiddle player Erin Okrainec and drummer Bryce Mitchell bring deep craftsmanship to themes of love (and love lost), addiction, and race, with rich harmonies and unexpected musical directions. Mindful Drones are committed to the artistic community, with shows often including collaborations with guest musicians and visual artists. The Drones are hard at work recording their first album, with an anticipated release in fall 2026.
